The Pearl Session Studio Select 4pc 20'' Shell Pack is a high-quality shell pack from Pearl, combining the incredible studio performance that the series is known for, and new custom upgrades taken from the higher level Pearl Masterworks spectrum. The kit features the same birch wood used in the Masterworks range, blended with African mahogany and then coated in a striking barnwood brown finish. The combination of birch and African mahogany offers an incredibly deep, warm tone with powerful mid-range tones giving the drums an added punch. The birch plies add a singing, bright tone with added attack and brilliant projection. Birch wood features enhanced low and high-range tones, mixing perfectly with the mid-range tones of mahogany to offer crisp lows, a warm, punchy mid-range and bright, singing highs. Pearl's OptiMount Suspension system ensures that the brilliant tones from the shells are not muffled in any way, allowing the shells to resonate to their full potential. The shells feature a 60-degree bearing edge, offering a blend of pre-EQ'd clarity and added tonal warmth straight out of the box. The shells are finished with high-quality hardware, such as Pearl SuperHoops II tom hoops, wooden bass drum hoops and Pearl low-contact lugs.

OptiMount Suspension System

The Session Studio Shell Pack features Pearl's renowned OptiMount suspension system on all of the toms. This mounting system does not make any contact with the shell itself, instead it mounts to the lugs, ensuring maximum resonance and brilliant sustain. Rubber isolators at all connection points prevent any muting, whilst providing a sturdy hold and very little movement throughout play.

SuperHoop II Tom Hoops

The Pearl Session Studio Select Shell Pack features Pearl's extensively designed and developed SuperHoops. These hoops are precision formed from heavy duty 2.3mm steel, and offer perfect rim shots and cross-stick effects that aren't obtainable on normal drum hoops. The hoops ensure optimal resonance and articulation, as well as making tuning easy, and making sure that your drums do not come out of tune.
