If you crave the aesthetic and tonewoods of a classic single-cutaway guitar but can't live with the playability compromises that often hinder your experience, the Schecter Special Solo-6 is the answer to your prayers. With a classic mahogany/maple combination and single cutaway body shape, this guitar has the essence of vintage guitar design. It is loaded with EMG pickups for a truly powerful tonality and has a thoroughly modern playing specification to provide no barriers to your playing technique.

EMG 81/85 Pickups

EMG's active pickups deliver powerful and noise-free operation for modern rock and metal tones with power and authority. They complement the Special Solo-6's mahogany/maple body by delivering a fast attack and liquid smooth sustain.

The EMG 81 is one of EMG's most popular pickups; it has the original combination of ceramic magnets and close aperture coils to provide detailed intensity and fluid sustain. This bridge pickup lends your riffs a powerful articulation and fast note attack for all styles of modern rock and metal.

The EMG 85 neck pickup gives a complementary balance to the 81 by providing smooth sustain for lead guitar work, and a focussed tone that will cut through any mix.

Fast Neck Specification

The Hellraiser Special has a thin 'C' profile neck that sits comfortably in the left hand. The fingerboard has a medium-flat 14'' radius for a slightly more modern feel but with the essence of a vintage playing experience. The frets, however, are thoroughly modern – a full complement of 24 extra-jumbo frets gives the full "shredder" experience with a wide 2 octave string range and excellent control over the strings when playing bends and vibrato.

The neck is mounted with an "Ultra Access" joint that disappears under your hand as you glide up the neck. It is smooth and finely balanced with no edges to unhinge your soloing at the 'dusty-end' of the neck.

Resonant Tonewoods

A mahogany body gives mid-range focus, warmth and excellent sustain. The maple top adds sparkly overtones along with a classy aesthetic. With the fixed bridge and quality tuners, this guitar delivers reliable tuning that will remain stable in changing environments and humidity levels.
