Resonant Tonewoods

A mahogany body gives the RC520 a warm and resonant core tone with great sustain and an ability to cut through the mix with its mid-range focus. The maple neck adds brighter overtones while the jatoba fingerboard assists with low-end articulation for a fast attack when playing complex riffs.

Comfortable Playing Feel

The RC520 features a comfortable maple neck with a round profile that sits in the hand with a reassuring feel. 22 medium frets are mounted with a 240mm radius, which provides the ideal balance between soloing control and comfortable barre chord playing.

The neck has a gloss finish for a vintage feel. It is mounted to the body with a bolt-on joint, and the cutaway design enables easy access to the upper-end of the fingerboard; perfect for playing solos at the top of the neck.  

Versatile Pickups & Electronics

Ibanez Core Tone pickups deliver a hum-free sound with power and articulation. They emphasise the warmth of the mahogany body and will help you cut through the mix. Each pickup can be split into a single coil via the push-pull tone control, giving you access to the more nuanced sound of lower-powered single coils.

The 3-way pickup selector means you can switch to each pickup individually or in combination, so you can access biting bridge-position tones, mellow neck-position sounds, and a balanced middle position. The coil tap switch doubles the number of pickup combinations, so you'll have 6 distinct tones to choose from making the RC520 a highly versatile guitar.  

Reliable Hardware

The Tight-Tune bridge is a fixed design and inherently more stable than a tremolo system. This gives you greater tuning stability and enhanced sustain. The strings travel through the body for improved transfer of string vibrations, while the individual saddles allow you to setup the perfect intonation for each string.
