The Electro 3 HP possesses the familiar features of the original Electro 3 but boasts a 73-key Hammer Action Portable keybed, with an E-E range and 4 selectable Dynamic Response Curves. Weighing at just 11 kg, this is an ultra light weight professional keyboard.

Explore the Nord Piano Library

The Nord Electro 3 series are compatible with the continuously expanding Nord Piano library. This is filled with grand pianos, uprights, vintage electric pianos, clavinets and harpsichords. Thanks to state-of-the-art multisampling techniques and string resonance, you can get authentic sounding sounds and incredible expressiveness. Whilst Electro 3 already comes with a selection of these sounds included. It's easy to replace them - simply connect the Electro 3 to the USB port of your computer, start the Nord Sound Manager and drag and drop the desired sounds to the desired program location.

You can get access to Nord's licensed Mellotron and Chamberlin sounds and a wide selection of quality sounds from leading sample producers. Updated on a regular basis, you can download new additions from the library for free!

Nord Sample Editor and Sound Manager

Electro 3 comes with the Nord Sample Editor, which gives you the opportunities to add any sounds you want to the Electro 3. The Sample Editor can use audio files in the .wav format and has great tools to help you get the results you want. Map several samples across the keyboard or create seamless loops with ease.

The Nord Sound Manager is an easy-to-use tool which lets you load and replace new pianos and samples in the Electro 3, and arrange and make backups of the memories. Organise by simply dragging and dropping operations or from toolbar- or menu activated actions in the application. This application is available for free to Electro owners, and is compatible with Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Mac OSX.

The Electro 3 HP version boasts a Long Release mode that adds a slightly longer release to Piano sounds, which is great for playing Legato Piano parts. The Electro 3 HP also has a dedicated button for disabling the String Resonance feature temporarily.

Monitor Input

Plug your music player into the Electro 3 and play along without the need of an external mixer or sound system. The signal is monitored through the headphone output.

68MB of Dedicated Sample Memory

The Electro 3 series boasts 68 MB of dedicated sample memory and Nord's efficient lossless compression algorithm makes it possible for us to use samples of up to three times the size compared to a standard linear sample player.

The Electro 3 comes equipped with four selectable tonewheel modes, that stretches from a clean sound to battered unit with the most dramatic setting; Vintage 3.

Amazing Detail

The Electro 3 is designed to provide functions like the Nord B3. There are key clicks derived from the original busbar behavior. There is the energy robbing that produces the gentle compression when you do that massive palm smear across the keyboard. Nord have included the option to trigger the organ sounds at the very top of a key's range, making it react just as fast as the original. They've even added B3 functions like the option to either include or exclude the 9th drawbar when percussion was activated.

Farfise and Vox Models

Just as impressive as the B3 are the Farfisa and Vox models. The massive savage sound created by their 12-top oscillator frequency-divider designs are recreated in this keyboard, with the same behavior and unique response. The Farfisa Compact Deluxe, a famous transistor organ, involves routing matrixes and complex filter combinations that give a tailored sound with massive energy and high-end. The Vox Continental's brute design gives you a more hollow tone, but with an intense character.

Rotary Speaker Simulation

Originating from the award winning Nord C1 Combo Organ is the Electro 3's rotary speaker simulation . The speaker incorporates the acoustic variations that happen when a physical speaker spreads the sound in a room, giving a full airy experience.

The Electro 3 also boasts a great function in the addition of the Rotary Stop Mode. This allows users to switch between fast and stopped rotation and back again by using either the controls on the panel or with a foot pedal connected to the Rotor Pedal input. This keyboard includes several user adjustable settings like speed and acceleration times for both treble and bass rotors. These options, as well as all the other System, MIDI and Sound Menu functions are on the right side of the panel.

Organ Split

Use the Organ Split mode to play two different organ registrations in a dual manual fashion, with one sound on either side of a user definable keyboard split point. Connect a second MIDI keyboard to the Electro 3, to use the organ split functionality, but in a true, dual manual setup.

A Selection of Effects

There's a great selection of high quality effects, including five different reverb types. You can also take advantage of tremolo, panning, wah-wah, phaser, flanger, chorus effects, and a ring modulator effects.

Add touches with amplifier simulations, for anything from warm fuzz to devastating mayhem. You can add a user friendly three-band EQ, with a sweepable mid-range and a compressor, to the final stage of the audio path.

The Electro 3 HP additionally boasts a flexible Delay effect with Tap-Tempo, Rate, Amount and a stereo Ping-Pong mode.

Performance

You can easily change, edit and store presets on the Electro 3, and the Live mode automatically saves what you're doing. The Program memory can hold 128 different Programs, which are organised in 2 Program Banks with 64 Pages each.

Easy-to-use Front Panel

The Electro 3's dedicated knobs and buttons provide the vital functions, providing simple and easy use during a performance. Functions are printed on the panel to minimise manual use.

The Electro 3 HP has 4 Live locations, whilst the standard Electro 3 has one. Also the Program memory of the Electro 3 HP is organised in 4 Program Banks with 32 Pages each.
