Following the success of the NT-USB, Rode has turned their focus to the portability of the USB microphone. The result is the NT-USB Mini, inspired by the original and sized-down into an even more portable micing solution. The microphone delivers crystal-clear sound thanks to the premium-grade condenser capsule. The capsule provides a directional cardioid pickup pattern, which is conventionally used for vocal recording and podcasting. This is because the cardioid pattern provides a focused sound, picking up everything in front of the capsule whilst minimising background noise.
The wide and smooth frequency response is designed to capture every subtle detail from your voice or instrument. It even features a built-in pop filter for reducing plosive and sibilance sounds. The result is a warm yet defined sound, that is perfect for a range of applications.
A groundbreaking update sees the NT-USB Mini go one step further and offer even more functionality and features for podcasters and streamers. The newly introduced Rode Connect application gives you the power to connect up to four NT-USB Minis to a single computer for seamless integration with video call and streaming applications. Innovative and intuitive, this new update is completely free to download and requires no complex routing to get up and running instantly.
Rode Connect is comprised of a fully-featured interface, complete with broadcast-style faders, one-click recording, level metering, mute buttons, output control and flexible optimisation and export options to upload to many major podcasting platforms. The ultimate solution for streamers, Rode Connect features two virtual channels to seamlessly connect remote callers via popular applications such as Zoom and Google Hangouts.
Now included with the NT-USB Mini is built-in DSP (digital signal processing) power, providing four premium-grade processors. The processors are comprised of: a compressor, noise gate, APHEX Aural Exciter and Big Bottom. These studio-grade effects can be used for a variety of applications, from adding low-end power to your voice for podcasts to adding compression to level out your volumes whilst recording.
Whether you are a musician, podcaster or gamer; these rich DSP effects will take your recording to the next level. The DSP effects are powered via the Rode Connect software. You can also use Rode Connect to chain multiple NT-USB Mini microphones to a single computer – perfect for podcasts. The newly updated Rode Connect software also provides you with fresh Sound Pad features, allowing you to load up and trigger up to 64 sounds, ideal for online broadcasts.
One of the features that sets the NT-USB Mini apart from conventional USB mics is the integrated, magnetic, adjustable swing mount. The unique desktop stand features a 360-degree orientation, allowing you to quickly position your microphone with ease.
The detachable magnetic desk stand helps to combat knocks and bumps, providing an ultra-sturdy base for your microphone. Not only that, but it means you can easily attach it to a mic stand or studio arm.
The onboard, zero-latency headphone output makes monitoring your levels easier than ever. You can also switch between monitoring modes, from the standard-setting to zero-latency for added flexibility. The zero-latency mode is perfect for troubleshooting problematic echoes you can incur whilst recording instruments and vocals.
It also features a front-panel level control, allowing you to set your volume levels with maximum precision. The microphone boasts a class-compliant USB output, providing plug-and-play functionality to get you ready to record within minutes. The sleek and stylish design is constructed from hard-wearing steel and reinforced nylon resin construction for optimal durability.
