The Red Truck’s operation mode can be changed by simultaneously pressing TAP control and footswitch 1, in order to have the option of live mode and preset mode. In live mode, the Red Truck works as a classic pedalboard with each on/off footswitch controlling its own effects module. In preset mode, the Red Truck operates as a pedalboard loop switcher. The footswitches will then recall a preset combination of which effects are on and which are off.
Mooer have conducted extensive research in order to find out what the most used and commonly desired effects were, and by incorporating 6 effects in one convenient floor unit, they've provided any gigging guitarist with a whole pedalboard of effects without any extra fuss or cost. The Red Truck’s reverb provides you with a true stereo digital reverberation, with an array of versatile controls to make the sound your own. Level lets you alter the wet/dry mix, decay is for adjusting the length of the effect and tone allows you to make changes to the EQ. Other controls include modulation depth for adding or reducing how deep the modulation on the reverb is, the modulation rate, which allows you to control speed of the reverb modulation, and the shimmer enhances the reverb with a high-pitched tail harmony.
The delay effect provides up to 3 different types, including digital for a classic ‘80s clear delay sound, echo for a more ‘60s magnetic drum delay, and analogue for a BB style delay stompbox effect. The controls include a level for adjusting the volume of the repeats, time for controlling the length of the delay and feedback which is used for selecting the number of repeats. What’s more, there is also a toggle switch for selecting the delay type and a subdivision knob, which lets you alter the delay time in relation to the tap tempo. The modulation combines tremolo, phaser, chorus and flanger together for a multi modulation. This versatile modulation controls include level, altering the effect mix, rate for adjusting the speed of the effects and depth which allows you to control the intensity. Also included is a toggle switch for selecting the effect type and a rhythm control for adjusting the speed of the effect in relation to the tap tempo.
The distortion provides a British style amplifier effect with a gain that can deliver tones ranging from a crunchy breakup with good grind to a rich, harmonic tone. It has controls consisting of treble, mid and bass knobs, as well as level for adjusting the output, mid-boost for booting and scooping the mid-range, and finally gain, which lets you change the amount of distortion. The pure boost effect is based on one of Mooer’s popular micro pedals, which offers up to +20dB of clean boost for increased projection. Featuring controls that consist of treble and bass that can be adjusted by +/- 15dB, boost which allows you to alter the overall amount of the effect, and a simple on/off switch instead of footswitch applied to the other effects. The overdrive effect is based on Mooer’s Rumble Drive, which delivers a warm, thick and natural analogue drive. The drive resembles a vintage amp at high gain and can push the distortion with a warm boost at low gain. The controls simply include volume for altering the output, gain is for adjusting the amount of the effect and tone – allowing you to control the EQ for a bright or darker sound.
