Two Types Of Clipping

The Fulltone Plimsoul Drive Pedal features the unique qualities of providing both soft-clipping and hard-clipping tonalities. Soft-clipping pedals provide a cleaner and more compressed low-to-medium gain overdrive sound that is ideal for blues or for use as a booster. Hard-clipping creates a tighter tone with less compressed but more distorted sound and is ideal for harder rock styles of music. The Plimsoul provides both of these capabilities with its dual stage clipping circuit that accurately replicates the sound and the feel of a tube amp with all its subtleties and complexities.

Versatility & Cascading Ability

The Plimsoul gives you the ability to create overdrive tones ranging from bluesy-compressed sounds through to high gain distorted tones. The sustain control provides more compression and gain while the stage 2 lets you dial in the firmer, crunchier British-style tube distortion. This provides endless sounds to craft your ideal overdriven tone.

Amp-Like Response

The Plimsoul is incredibly touch sensitive and responds very well to player dynamics or guitar control adjustments; it cleans up very nicely when you roll down your guitar volume control, just like a real tube amp. It works well with both single coils and humbuckers, and its low output impedance ensures wide compatibility with other pedals and with your amp. The pedal gives a slight mid-range hump to help your tone stand out in the mix, and can transform your amp into a British-style high gain monster should you desire it.
