Easy to use and always in-tune. The Floyd Rose Pro Tremolo is the best locking tremolo bridge system in the business. You'll always experience pitch perfect tone. The Floyd Rose's double-locking feature keeps your string tension stable, maintaining your guitar's tuning. Extra strength in tone is added by the fact that the tremolo locks twice, at both the nut and the bridge.
The fact that the bridge locks allows you to use the whammy bar as freely and extensively as you like. You'll always have peace of mind that your strings are locked in tune, and that using the exhilarating tremolo effect through massive pitch changes won't shift them out of key. When you've got the ability to use an effect as distinctive and powerful as the Floyd Rose's tremolo, you should never be restrained.
Furthermore, it's super-easy to use. Pushing the tremolo bar towards the guitar reduces the string tension, and lets you drop your pitch. Known as 'dive-bombing', this is an effect used commonly in hard rock. Pulling the bar away from guitar's body gives you a higher pitch, allowing you to apply incisive, screeching sharpness to your soloing. The most wide-reaching tremolo sound.
The Floyd Rose Tremolo is the go-to locking tremolo system for professional musicians the world over. Its amazing quality and scintillating sound have made it extremely popular with some of rock music's most successful artists. Eddie Van Halen, Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine, Metallica's Kirk Hammett, and Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson have all used Floyd Rose systems to inject unique, original tremolo into their music. This is quality fit for the very best.
A system born from rock music. The locking tremolo was first devised by Floyd D. Rose in 1976. Rose was in a band at the time, playing rock music heavily inspired by the likes of Deep Purple and Jimi Hendrix. This was a genre that relied significantly on vibrato for its distinctive sound. But Floyd noticed that when using the whammy bar extensively, his strings would quickly drop out of tune. This was a nightmare during live shows, as it was necessary to re-tune after almost every song.
Rose used his skills as a jewellery maker to devise a tremolo system that locked the strings in place, thereby maintaining their tune. He could now use the tremolo effect with unlimited freedom, and not worry about falling out of tune. The system was noticed and quickly adopted by a number of professional musicians. Rose gave his name to the system, and the Floyd Rose Tremolo established itself in rock history.
