All-Mahogany Construction

The Ortega D-WALKER features a body crafted entirely from mahogany, offering an airy, punchy short scaled electro acoustic bass that falls within the warmer category of tonewood characteristics. The D-WALKER features a mahogany top, offering a natural compression which produces strong fundamentals with a direct, clear focus. Furthermore, the D-WALKER also has mahogany back and sides which produce a meaty mid-range with woody, punchy tones and plenty of depth to please most playing styles. Its warm-sounding mahogany body enables the D-WALKER to project classic full, fat and thundering bass tones. The tone produced is versatile and well-suited to blues, jazz, experimental and funk.

Solid Mahogany Neck & Acacia Fingerboard

Constructed from mahogany, the D-WALKER's neck delivers a fat, rich warmth with plenty of resonance. Mahogany's nature enables it to respond superbly to many different playing styles with equal ease. Additionally, the neck is topped with an acacia fingerboard adding a sweet sonic-characteristic to the overall sound. Together, the mahogany and acacia provide a smooth and fluid playability, ensuring players receive great comfort across the entire fingerboard. The fingerboard also has 'XII' inlaid on the 12th fret for added aesthetic appeal.

Short Scale Cutaway Body

The Ortega D-WALKER is part of Ortega's Deep Traveler Series of acoustic basses, and being part of the travel series, the D-WALKER's body is compact, and provides a comfortable playing experience. Players are able to hold the D-WALKER close to the body for easy playability, whilst its florentine cutaway profiles provides added comfort and easy access to upper frets as well as more challenging chords. Furthermore, the D-WALKER features a 7/8 scale length of 625 mm, adding to its compact size and comfortable playing experience. As well as all this, the Ortega D-WALKER is perfect for smaller framed players that find bigger bodied and longer scaled instruments a little too much to handle, also perfect for students needing a compact and unobtrusive electro acoustic bass. The B-Band A 1.2 features a volume control discreetly mounted within the soundhole, enabling players to chose their preamp volume level easily with the touch of an easily accessible control.
