High top cabinet with adjustable piano lid
Integrated within the High Top Sonori's stylish polished ebony cabinet is a three-pedal unit, providing the same configuration found on a grand piano. The sustain, sostenuto and soft pedals offer dynamic control over your performance, allowing you to add depth and nuance to your playing. This feature is essential for classical pieces and adds further expression to your performance.
The piano’s speaker configuration has been carefully chosen to provide a truly immersive sound. The cabinet hosts two 6" low-frequency woofers located inside purpose built and ported resonance chambers, this provides precise bass replication alongside an accurate and crisp low-mid range. Two full-range speakers just above the keybed are angled towards the performer, to provide direct and immersive sound akin to sitting at an acoustic piano.
Four more speakers providing high-mid and treble frequencies sit underneath the adjustable soft-close piano lid located at the top of the cabinet. The position of the lid drastically impacts the way that these speakers project and ultimately changes the overall sound of the high top. The three positions - fully closed, semi-open (using the chromed lid supports) and fully open offer a muted practice sound, balanced and full tones and a bright performance sound respectively.
The cabinet also features a smooth-action keybed roller which can be used to cover the keys when you're not playing, keeping the playing surface free of dust and safe from spillages. An expanded music rest provides plenty of space for your tablet or sheet music.
Cutting edge authentic-feel keybed
The G4M Sonori’s keybed has been carefully designed to provide a truly realistic playing experience akin to an acoustic piano. The hammer action, weighting and bounce back of the keys has been carefully balanced, including a custom designed spring mechanism in the back of the keybed - the result is a light and responsive feel, ideal for fast passages and dynamic play.
Weighting between the black and white keys has been thoughtfully balanced to ensure an authentic representation of an acoustic piano, and the key angle makes moving across the keyboard comfortable and fluid. With adjustable key sensitivity, you can fine-tune the key response to suit your unique playing style, making every performance feel natural.
Industry leading audio powered by DREAM®
Offering a total of 42 G4M custom designed voices, including pianos, organs and string ensembles, all Sonori digital pianos (Low Top and Grand configurations also available) cover a wide range of genres and styles. Powered by the French designed DREAM® audio engine, these high-fidelity sounds are generated using a combination of advanced synthesis techniques and detailed acoustic recordings, including multi-layer samples and release samples. When combined with the Sonori’s weighted hammer action keys, this provides you with an exceptionally natural feel.
The top of the line DREAM® engine features an expanded 256-note polyphony, allowing you to play without limitations - extensive and complex passages sound awesome on the Sonori, especially with the sustain pedal. There is also an increased dynamic range due to the DREAM® engine, offering ultra-accurate 88-key velocity scanning - meaning every nuance of your playing is captured.
Instrument-specific effects
Each pre-set on the Sonori is complemented by three instrument-specific effects which are fully adjustable to suit your tastes. Implemented via state-of-the-art digital signal processing, the G4M Sonori’s pre-sets come alive and enter new realms with the addition of modulation, spectral effects and ambience. And of course, you can save your favourite settings to one of eight user banks for quick access, ideal for live performance or routine practice.
XLN Audio Collaboration
In collaboration with Swedish company XLN Audio, 24 of the G4M Sonori’s pre-sets are powered by samples from XLN’s renowned Addictive Keys. Captured using industry leading microphones, amplifiers and outboard gear, eight fantastic grand pianos, upright pianos and electric suitcase pianos are at your fingertips on the G4M Sonori.
Each Addictive Keys sample has been carefully chosen and manipulated thoughtfully without losing the stunning character of the original audio. The hand crafted samples are purposely 'genuine', leaving in the characterful resonances, naturally tuned reverberance and audible percussive reactions that you would expect from the acoustic equivalent. This provides a unique, realistic and diverse set of instruments at your disposal, and allow you to unleash your creativity.
Touchscreen interface for easy control
The G4M Sonori Digital Piano’s intuitive UI is controlled via an ultra-responsive touchscreen interface, ensuring smooth and simple control over all its features. Designed for ease of use, you’re never more than two taps away from adjusting settings or switching between sounds. There are no arbitrary sub-menus or unnecessary adjustments to get lost in, simply tap what you want and get going.
Each patch offers a render of the selected keys alongside three sliders to dial in the instrument-specific effects for each patch. Once you've finalised your sound, save it to your favourites bank to recall at any time. For players who prefer to get lost in their playing, dial back the the touchscreen's brightness in the settings and allowing focus on what matters, the music!
Seamless and versatile connectivity
The G4M Sonori Digital Piano’s Bluetooth MIDI and audio functionality makes it easy to connect to your devices and play along with tutorials or backing tracks. The discreet connectivity ports include dual headphone jacks, an aux line in, line out (L & R) and a USB-to-computer connector for MIDI control. These connections are positioned for quick access, ensuring that you can easily integrate the piano into your setup without disrupting its sleek design.
Additional performance features
The Sonori also has features ideal for learning, for example the Tutor mode allows you to divide the piano into two equal 'twin' keyboards with nearly identical registers. Combined with the Sonori's dual headphone jacks, this feature is great for side by side tutorship, allowing a teacher to quickly demonstrate passages and for the student to follow along simultaneously.
Other performance features on the Sonori also include transposition and tuning adjustments, touch sensitivity controls, local on/off for MIDI control, global EQ and a metronome with variable speed and time signatures.
