The vintage collection of preamps each boast their own unique characteristics and tonality for maximum versatility in your sound palette. Powering these faithful recreations of vintage preamps is the Total Analog Emulation Technology from Arturia. This unique technology is designed to capture the essence of each preamp’s sound, staying faithful to the originals.
Each of these virtual preamps can be used within your selected DAW as a VST, AU or AAX plug-in. This allows you to implement these preamps as effects within your mixes for sound experimentation and mixing and mastering applications. Each preamp features a beautiful, high-resolution interfaces with fat and intelligent tag-based preset browsing for fluid workflow. The presets that come included with the preamps are created by award-winning sound designers.
The 1973-Pre is a faithful recreation of the legendary 1073 preamp created by Rupert Neve. This now renowned preamp revolutionised the recording world in the 1970s. The original preamp featured an innovative design, utilising high-efficiency transistors, replacing the limited vacuum tube technology. Using the TAE technology, Arturia have recreated this classic preamp, with extreme attention to detail. The virtual model provides the same distinct colouration and analog distortion, as well as the original, sweet-sounding tone controls. The preamp is comprised of a 3-band equalizer, high-pass filter, input gain and output trim controls, complete with vintage-style rotary controls and classic VU meters, for that classic vintage style. You can also switch between L/R and M/S stereo modes, as well as the two transformers for added versatility.
The TridA-Pre bases its designed on the rare and legendary Trident A Range console. The Trident A Range console was one of the most renowned music consoles on the planet, helping to provide the sound for such acts as: The Beatles, David Bowie, Elton John, Queen, T-Rex, Genesis and more. It was widely revered for its beautiful sounding musical EQ, providing a full-bodied sound with rich tonality. Only 13 of the consoles were ever made, making them one of the most sought-after mixing consoles ever. Arturia have created a faithful reaction of the preamp and EQ, providing incredible sound-shaping power. The TridA-Pre is comprised of a 3-band two-channel equalizer, low-pass filter, high pass filter and a switch for toggling mid/side mode. It comes complete with output trim and input gain controls, allowing you to dial in your levels with maximum precision. It utilises the same vintage design with classic VU meters for visual monitoring.
The final product in this virtual sound shaping catalogue is the V76-Pre. The V76-Pre bases its designed on the coveted V76 preamp, used in the famous Abbey Road studios and incorporated within the REDD mixing consoles. The V76 helped to shape the sound of ‘The White Album’ by The Beatles, thanks to its tube-based warmth and rich tonality. Building on the original design, Arturia have refined the functionality and hand-picked the best elements for added versatility. The gain controls have been made more continuous for added control as well as refining the boost and cut range of the EQ for modern purposes. The preamp is comprised of a 2-band equalizer, multi-mode high-pass filter and mid/side mode complete with output trim and input gain controls for maximum precision.
