Three sound profiles for flexible tones
The Audix D6X offers three distinct sound profiles, allowing users to tailor the microphone's response to their specific needs. The Deep setting delivers the classic D6 sound - tight, punchy, and ready to cut through any mix. The Balanced option provides a more even tonal response, enhancing midrange clarity without sacrificing low-end power.
For a natural, uncoloured sound, the Natural setting shifts the frequency response for a more linear capture, making it ideal for a wider range of instruments, including guitar cabinets and percussion. The recessed switch design ensures quick and reliable profile selection while preventing accidental adjustments during performances.
Exceptional clarity with VLM diaphragm
At the core of the D6X is Audix’s exclusive Very Low Mass (VLM) diaphragm technology, which enhances transient response and delivers natural sound reproduction. This lightweight diaphragm ensures that every hit, pluck, or strike is captured with precision, maintaining the integrity of the original sound source.
Whether used for live performance or studio recordings, the VLM diaphragm captures deep, resonant lows while preserving clarity in the mids and highs, making it an excellent choice for low-frequency instruments.
Built for reliability and durability
Designed, machined, and assembled in the USA, the D6X is built to withstand the rigours of touring and studio work. Its solid aluminium body, black anodised finish, and steel mesh grille provide excellent protection against physical damage, while the high-quality XLR connector ensures a secure and noise-free connection.
The transformerless design and low impedance output allow for interference-free performance, even over long cable runs, making it a reliable choice for both live and studio environments.
Optimised sound isolation
The D6X features a cardioid polar pattern that focuses on the intended sound source while reducing background noise and minimising feedback. This makes it an excellent choice for live stage applications where isolating the kick drum or bass cabinet is crucial for a clean mix. Additionally, the mic’s compact and lightweight design makes it easy to position in tight spaces without compromising sound quality, ensuring effortless setup for any performance or recording session.
