Taking inspiration from the now revered MicroGranny sampler, the MG Monolith takes everything that made the original so powerful and takes it to the next level. Re-housed within a black PCB enclosure, the MG Monolith features a new and improved control section with enhanced tactile controls. The new faceplate features sharper text so you can see all your parameters at a glance. Full MIDI control allows you to control specific grains with keys as well as various CC values remotely.
The Instant Loop function is perfect for performances and the onboard legato playback and AR envelope means you can quickly and edit and shape your sound with ease. Not only that, but the MG Monolith also features new custom sampled packs from the likes of Bogdan Racynski, David Herzig, Oliver Torr feat. Margaret Unknown and Patrik F. Veltrusky.
In-depth control and hackable design with Arduino
The monophonic design allows you to adjust the start, end sample rate, crush and envelope for optimal control. The open source style design allows you to hack the internal components for endless possibilities. Using Arduino, you can hack the BASTL MG Monolith to your own requirements, adding in custom functionality and settings.
It also includes a wide range of settings and controls including granular settings for changing the grain size and shift speed. You can also copy and paste samples as well as change the attack and release for added versatility. Hold, Sample Rate and Crush controls are also included for in-depth modulation.
Compact design, versatile connectivity
The compact design is extremely portable, ideal for musicians on the move, and suited to both live and studio applications. The MG Monolith includes a MIDI input as well as a MIDI side chain envelope, allowing it to respond to notes, CC and clock equipment. There is also an input and output volume knob for setting the levels of your external devices. A power switch is also included for turning of the unit when not in use. Its compact yet robust design features a new sleek faceplate/tactile controls and it will fit snugly into any backpack or pocket.
