For example, the bi-directional polar pattern records audio from the front and back of the microphone making it great for intimate interviews.
Choosing the cardioid pattern results in a rich, full-bodied sound from in front of the mic. This is perfect for recording vocals, gaming, podcasting and live-streaming. Other options include stereo mode and omni-directional mode which are both great for recording rooms and providing a more spacious sound.
