All-analog sound with low CPU
Ideal for use on heavy projects with lots of tracks that require some treatment, The Hoser packs in the authentic sound of analog in a CPU friendly format that can be used on every track without worrying about the strain on your computer. When mixing, it's vital that each track has its own space that it can flourish and sit within the mix, most often the first effect you will reach for to do this is an EQ. Here's where The Hoser shines, the low CPU usage means that you can go in and carve as many instruments you need to, either stereo or mono and not run into overloading problems.
Ideal for the modern mixing engineer, The Hoser has been modelled with such attention to detail and accuracy that you can add a tremendous amount of EQ gain without ever introducing the harsh peaks and distortions that digital EQ will introduce. Instead, you will find a smooth and musical range of harmonics that add to the sound of your instrument or mix.
Upgraded for Version 2
With The Hoser 2, Boz and David Bendeth are keeping the legacy alive of this vintage fabled unit. This update focuses on workflow whilst leaving the sonic signature untouched. Starting with the interface, workflow has been given a massive upgrade with a resizable interface, letting you find the right size to fit your screen.
More practically, The Hoser now includes enhanced features for more control over your sound design. A smooth-sounding 6dB/octave high-pass filter has been included and features a highly transparent tone to let you process single tracks or entire groups without introducing artefacts.
Where the original The Hoser featured a drivable input control similar to the original, the Hoser 2 update provides the same input saturation but with a linked-output control, letting you drive the input gain for the same harmonic saturation without the output level increasing. This lets you make more informed decisions on your processing to not be fooled by any volume changes, all while eliminating the need for external trim plug-ins.
Bringing the plug-in up to modern standards, parameters can be reset by double-clicking, undo/redo buttons have been introduced, and oversampling up to 8X is now possible all while delivering the same immaculate analog-modelled sound in a lightweight CPU format.
