Tiptop Audio Numberz is used for communicating with PC-based software for downloading and writing DSP programs and display text onto TipTop's blank Z-DSP cartridges. The programs can be modified to add your own personal touch to downloaded programs, or you can even write and debug your own. The programs can be shared online with everyone else who owns Numberz, or passed around on the Z-DSP cartridges with people you know. Custom text can be created to show on the Z-DSP's LCD display. Numberz can also be used directly into the Z-DSP's cartridge socket to enable realtime programming.

The Tiptop Audio Z-DSP

The Tiptop Audio Z-DSP is a voltage-controllable digital sound processing/generation module. It is open-source, cartridge-based, and equipped with a stereo DSP processor with 24-bit sampling and 15kHz of bandwidth. The Z-DSP gives you direct control of the DSP hardware with smooth VC parameters. With a selection of separately available cartridges, containing up to 8 programs on each, the Z-DSP allows you to manipulate digital audio to create a huge range of different sounds and effects. The module offers charm and personal interaction that a computer simply cannot achieve, whilst simultaneously adding a huge array of sonic textures to your modular system.

PC-based Software

Numberz works by interfacing with a PC-based software front-end. This software collection enables you to download DSP programs, modify them, write and debug your own programs, and share them online with other Numberz users. The software can all be downloaded from here, whilst free DSP programs that you can write to Tiptop's blank cartridges can be downloaded here.
