Multi-band saturation
Saturation is a key tool in music production, adding weight, grit and excitement to your tracks. Broadband saturation across the entire frequency spectrum can be desirable for some instruments but not all. This is particularly important on bass-heavy instruments as adding extra distortion to the low-end can result in unwanted muddiness and 'flub'. Controlling which frequency ranges to add saturation can help to add cut to the higher strings of a bass guitar without causing unwanted rumble or to add low-mid punch to vocals without causing excessive upper-frequency harshness.
Providing extra control over your tonal shaping, MSaturatorMB includes a powerful harmonic generator. Working hand-in-hand with the saturation circuit, the harmonic generator can be used to digitally enrich the harmonics of the dominant fundamental frequency. Using this, you can enhance the upper harmonics of a sub-bass 808 or bass guitar to make it appear more audible on smaller speaker systems or to cut through without additional saturation, EQ or compression.
Add movement to your sound design
The easiest way to transform a static sound to something with movement, energy and dynamic, MSaturatorMB comes with four fully-featured modulators. Capable of adding motion to any parameter, each modulator can work as an LFO, level follower, MIDI trigger, ADSR envelope generator, randomizer, pitch detection or even a combination of all of them!
Suitable for surround sound processing
Whether you're working on music, game audio, film, TV or even VR audio, MSaturatorMB can handle everything from mono, stereo, mid/side, eight-channel surround and up to 7th-order ambisonics for immersive 64-channel audio.
Store, save and share your presets
Once you have found a sound that suits the needs of your mix or project, Melda have included a carefully designed storage database to load up your presets in any future projects in any host. Inside the preset database, your presets can be automatically uploaded to a shared server where other like-minded users can download your presets. You can also download presets direct from the database to your plug-in and expand your collection of presets from other users in the community.
Combine several parameters together with Multiparameters
Ideal for experimental sound design, Multiparameters let you manipulate multiple parameters together in one macro control. With this, you can completely transform your sound in as few steps as possible, making it ideal for automation purposes or for combining several multiparameters to create a unique sound unheard of before.
State of the art randomization
Want to leave your sound design up to chance without turning a single dial? You can with the Randomization function inside MSaturatorMB. Three different randomization options are available including complete randomization of every parameter inside the plug-in, subtle changes to your current settings and smart randomization which analyses parameters and your incoming audio to optimise settings.
An intelligent process, Melda's randomization learns from existing settings and compares against optimised parameters for a musical experience which always aims to enhance your settings. You can even lock certain parameters you wish to be excluded.
Automatic gain compensation (AGC)
When creating tones or browsing presets within Melda MSaturatorMB, you will only hear the change in sound that your processing applies and not the volume change. We can often be fooled into thinking that a louder sound is better without the context of hearing how it sounds when level-matched. Melda has included Automatic Gain Compensation across the entire plug-in which adapts to settings to ensure the output is only as loud as the input to make better mixing decisions.
Not only this, but Melda MSaturatorMBalso features a Safety Limiter fixed to the output level at 0dB. This ensures that any adjustments to the output volume that you make in your processing won't go above digital clipping and will hit the brickwall limiter, saving your ears from any potentially harmfully loud sounds.
Audition multiple settings instantly
With such a wide array of different tones available inside MSaturatorMB, you might struggle to find which song fits your music the best. To help you quickly compare several different settings, Melda has included an A/B comparison switch. This lets you audition two settings simultaneously without needing to dial in the settings every time.
Taking it one step further, Melda MSaturatorMB includes A - H switching, offering up to eight slots of settings where you can freely switch between all eight to find the right sound for your song. Additionally, Slots A - D are available in the built-in X-Y pad, letting you blend between four potential settings and find the right balance between each of them.
Multiband magic
Built into the plug-in, Melda MSaturatorMB's flexible multi-band system lets you separate your audio into six bands for independent processing. Best of all, this is done entirely transparently, meaning there are no unwanted artefacts or distortions in your signal. It's not just the conventional frequency splitting with the integrated multi-band, you can split your signal into many parts including panorama, mid-side, transient, tonal/noise or parallel for a huge amount of control over all aspects of your audio signal in one plug-in!
