Slate Custom Opto Compressor Overview
The Slate Custom Opto Compressor is a hot-rotted plug-in version of a classic 2A-style limiter with timing, ratio and tone controls. Going above and beyond what's possible with conventional 2A-style hardware, the Custom Opto Compressor from Slate lets you customise the response of your compression with the Speed knob, a simple dial which adjusts the attack and release times simultaneously to fit with the tempo of your mix and instrument more closely.
Additionally, the ratio control lets you go anywhere from 1:1 to 10:1+ for more limiting effects. The standout addition to Slate's Custom Opto Compressor is the Tone control, a five-way switch with modes such as Flat, Warm and Airy to change the character of your compression. A small screw parameter lets you take your Tone change from 0 - 200 in value for enhanced emphasis over your tone.
