About the Artist
Brian Thorsett's career has showcased his versatility in over 90 unique operatic characters. Highlights from his 2012-2013 season include leading roles in Rameau's "Pygmalion," "L'Elisir d'Amore" as Nemorino, and "Semele" as Jupiter. As a concert performer, Brian has an extensive and varied catalogue of more than 200 pieces, leading him to perform in prestigious venues throughout the United States and Europe. His educational background is impressive, with participation in the San Francisco Opera's Merola Program, the Glimmerglass Opera's Young American Artist program, the American Bach Soloists Academy, the Britten-Pears Young Artist Programme in Aldeburgh, England, and the Music Academy of the West. Beyond his performance career, Brian contributes to the next generation of singers as a faculty member at Santa Clara University, where he teaches Beginning Voice.
