Morphing oscillators
Unique to the PolyKBIII, three oscillators are all completely morphable and can be controlled by all modulation sources. This means that your waveforms don't need to be fixed or static, express yourself better than ever before and morph your triangle wave into a saw, or pulse into a double saw, allowing you more flexibility than ever before even within the digital realm. Oscillators two and three can also behave like LFO's, well into the audio rate, to allow you to thicken up weaker and anaemic signals to a more full-bodied sound, perfect for lead melodies and top lines.
Additionally, a fourth noise oscillator is there to add texture and extra harmonic content to your signal, letting you soar above a full mix and cut through with ease.
Flexible Multi-mode filters
Using proprietary XILS-lab 0df technology, the PolyKBIII features two beautiful, analog-modelled self-resonating filters with pre and post-drive modules for added grit and character and keyboard tracking, each with their own dedicated envelope for instant tone shaping. Each oscillator is able to feed either filter or both simultaneously, where filters can be cascaded into each to create complex and precise sounds.
Per voice modulation through Voice XY Pad
With the Voice XY pad, it's like having a modulated synth engine per every note that is played, all housed in one extremely intuitive and legible graphic design. Each note that is played can be modulated individually, meaning they will all take on a character of their own, sharing no similarities to the notes played before or after. Represented as a red ball within the graphical interface, you can simply drag this around the interface to create uniquely modulated tones within your synth. The vertical and horizontal position within the interface represents two dedicated parameters, each with an amount knob that allows you to dial in the precise level of modulation you want per note. If there has ever been a synthesizer function made-to-measure for live performers, the Voice XY pad is surely it. Explore new ways to keep your audience engaged and bring new life to your tracks, why not play sequences back and keep your hands free for using the Voice XY pad and modulate the notes in your step sequence.
Control your sound in a 3D space
Once you have created your sound, it's never been easier to place within the stereo field to find a space to sit within your mix. Featuring a unique Space XY module, the PolyKBIII lets you please each note in a different place within a 3D field, creating everything from subtle movement between the octaves of a keyboard to dizzying sound-design sounds that would sit at the table of cinematic soundtracks.
Supersized step sequencer
Onboard the PolyKBIII is up to 128 steps, programmable in four banks to create huge and long-lasting sequences. Each bank in the step sequencer can control up to four synth parameters via the User-definable Matrix, such as filters, oscillators, LFO level and more.
Alongside this, an eight-step poly sequencer takes the idea of step sequencing to a completely new level, allowing you to record eight parts in real-time. Transpose sequences, play live with chord sequences and more on the fly with unrivalled levels of control over muting, editing, quantising and more.
Preset Macro Modulation Matrix
Borrowing a similar ethos from revered modular synthesizers, PolyKBIII features a modulation matrix that allows you to change the sound of your patch by simply adjusting the connection between different modules. Coming stock with 35 hardwired modulations through various sources, you can drastically change the signal flow of your signal to generate a completely new sound with a simple switch. LFOs, envelopes and even oscillators are pre-patched in to create anything from ring modulation to filter modulation.
Analog modelled effects
To perfect your sound and add the studio-ready polish to your tones, PolyKBIII features five premium-quality effects to insert in a wide array of applications. Delay, Chorus, Phaser, Reverb and EQ are all present to give you the flexibility to add a vintage flair and vibe to your sound. Equipped with a vintage chorus and phaser as well as analog delay and EQ emulations, you can add depth and dynamic to your sound and carve out any offending frequencies or sculpt your sound to fit your mix with the EQ. Simple yet powerful, the onboard effects ensure that you don't need to use any external processing or hardware to craft your sound.
