Different tensions
Like many strings, Evah Pirazzis are available in various tensions. Weich (light), Mittel (medium) and Stark (heavy). These different tensions allow you to choose the best tension for your playing style and instrument. Lighter tensions tend to respond faster to the bow and are less tiring for new players or for extended periods of playing. Heavier tensions, while more difficult to make speak, often produce a darker sound with more volume. You may find one tension will match your playing better, or maybe complement your instrument's natural sound more.
Exclusive new core material
For the Evah Pirazzi, Evah Pirazzi Gold, Obligato and Violino string types, Pirastro have developed a new synthetic material for the core. This is exclusive to Pirastro and won't be seen in any other brand of strings. The new material offers an unmatched variety of timbres with rich overtones. It also provides complete resistance to fluctuations in temperature and humidity bringing incredible tuning stability and an impressive dynamic range that can bring out the nuances from pianissimo to fortissimo.
Gold plated and loop end E strings
Evah Pirazzi is a comprehensive range of strings. This is why the E strings are available in various configurations to match your preference. Certain fine tuners require an E string with a loop end. This is why Pirastro have made loop end E strings available in case you require that instead. Ball end E strings are also available if you have a standard fine tuner or don't use one.
For further refinement of your tone, you can also get E strings that are gold plated, rather than the standard tin plating. Referred to as Goldsteel by Pirastro this provides a more brilliant and powerful sound with an easy bow response.
Fractional sizes
If you have a smaller violin (1/8 size to 3/4), there are some versions of Evah Pirazzi strings that will fit your instrument. These are limited to medium tension sets, however you can also buy medium tension individual strings as well.
About Pirastro
Pirastro was founded in 1798 as "Giorgio Pirazzi and Sons". It all started with Giorgio Pirazzi who learned the craft of string making across Italy and then moved to Offenbach, Germany and began his company. Nearly a century later, Pirazzi's grandson invited his friend, Theodore Strobel, to join him as a business partner. They combined the beginnings of their names together to create Pirastro. Today Pirastro is still run by the Pirazzi family and makes high-quality strings that are used by musicians all over the world and at the very highest standards of performance.
