High-quality materials and reliable mechanism
Yahama Custom Z saxophones are lighter in weight compared to other professional saxophones. This is because of the special brass alloy that Yamaha uses to provide the tonal flexibility that you've always dreamed of. This new model has been re-examined from the neck to the bell and is now equipped with a one-piece bell for flexibility throughout the range. The popular V1 neck features a large bore which offers a wide dynamic performance. This design has improved intonation, while also producing a solid tonal core with more colourful overtones.
The metal resonators produce an outstanding response and provide a much wider dynamic range, providing effortless playability all around. The YTS82Z features an improved mechanism from low B-C# connection. This ensures the consistent closing of the low C# key and introduces a more precise response from notes in the lower range of the instrument. An adjustable front F mechanism on the Yamaha YTS82Z Custom Z gives you the freedom to find an optimal level of resistance in the altissimo range.
Unparalleled tonal flexibility
With a powerful sound and highly regarded mechanism, the YTS82Z Custom Z saxophone enables fast passages to be played without difficulty. The design of the YTS82Z is based on the classic '62' models, which is a revelation for the modern-day saxophone player. The YTS82Z offers a huge dynamic range for both lively and gentle performances.
Capable of playing in all styles of music, the YTS82Z is versatile enough that there is no need to sacrifice comfort with sound. This custom model comes in a beautiful unlacquered finish, which when combined with the unlacquered keys and Mother of Pearl key tops, produces a truly majestic looking instrument. The front of the saxophone features hand engraving on the bell for enhanced beauty and style.
Included accessories
The YTS82Z saxophone comes with a TS4CM mouthpiece which is sculpted out of quality ebonite. Ebonite is a high-quality rubber which creates a rich, resonant, and deep tone which is warmer than metal mouthpieces. These mouthpieces are crafted by Yamaha's expert artisans to ensure consistent and superior quality. The shape of the tip has been modified for increased comfort and easier embouchure control. The baffle and chamber have been re-designed for greater projection as well as a softer tone. Also included is the TSC-820 case to protect the saxophone while not in use. This hard case includes a convenient shoulder strap allowing for easy transportation between musical events.

Unlacquered instruments
Please note: all unlacquered Yamaha saxophones leave the factory with a highly polished finish that is visually similar to that of a standard lacquered instrument. Over time, the body of the saxophone will develop an aged look, which will eventually show the raw brass of the horn. This completely natural process starts as soon as the saxophone leaves the factory and makes contact with air, which may explain why your saxophone has small signs of ageing on it when you receive it. If you are looking for a shiny, polished instrument, then we do not advise that you purchase an unlacquered instrument. However, if you're looking to achieve that genuinely vintage and superb finish, then we highly recommend unlacquered instruments.
